About
We think your secrets shouldn't need a cloud
Personal Vault started with a simple question: why does keeping passwords safe require trusting someone else's servers?
Password managers are brilliant — until the company behind one is breached, acquired, or changes its pricing. Every account-based service is another place your most sensitive information lives.
Personal Vault takes a different path. There's no account, no sync server and no analytics. Your vault is encrypted on your phone with keys only you control, and backups go wherever you choose, encrypted before they leave.
It's built and maintained by an independent developer who wanted an app they could recommend to their own family without caveats.

Principles
What we stand for
Local-first, always
Your device is the source of truth. Features that would need our servers simply don't get built.
Honest monetisation
Every feature is free. We earn from non-personalised ads and an optional ad-free upgrade — never from your data.
Minimal permissions
We ask only for what a feature needs, and explain why. Camera and photos go through Android's own picker.
No dark patterns
No nag walls, no fake countdowns, no hidden renewals. Rejecting is always as easy as accepting.
No lock-in
Import from other managers and export whenever you like. Your data is yours to take elsewhere.
Built for everyone
Designed to respect privacy laws worldwide and to be accessible to as many people as possible.
